Lawrence Calleja

Lawrence Calleja started Nursing School in 1987 where he proceeded to graduate and commenced his nursing career at Saint Luke’s Hospital. He has worked in various specialties including medicine, drug rehabilitation, Accident and Emergency and theatre.

In 2005, Mr Calleja moved to the private sector to work in the Ophthalmic and ENT Department of Saint James Hospital, Sliema. From here he pursued his interest in Hair Loss and started working with specialised treatments and implantations. Mr Calleja is responsible for the Intensive Micro Needling treatment for the thickening of hair, PRP treatment (Platelet Rich Plasma) for hair loss, and coordinates the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) Transplant programme at Niumee concept esthétique.

He has been working with FUE for more than ten (10) years. His role includes the examination of follicles and hairs (Trichology) to identify patients who could benefit from the implantation technique. He assists the specialist plastic surgeon throughout the Hair Transplant procedure.
