Dr. Dorothy Contiguglia-Akcan is a U.S.-trained, board-certified Family Medicine specialist and Functional physician. With over a decade of clinical, academic, and research experience, she blends evidence-based medicine with functional approaches to uncover root causes and restore balance. Her practice focuses on gut health, hormone optimization, metabolic balance, and preventive care through personalized nutrition, lifestyle, and advanced diagnostics.

Dr. Contiguglia-Akcan earned her MD and MPH from Tulane University and completed her Family Medicine Residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. A Fellow of the AAFP and member of IFM, she is dedicated to empowering patients through integrative, compassionate, and science-based care—helping them achieve lasting wellness.
